This is my current list, review and walk through of campgrounds and RV resorts in the Gatlinburg, Tennessee area. As I visit more, I will continue to add to the list! I hope that this helps you plan where to stay in Gatlinburg and the surrounding areas if you have an RV.
CAMP MARGARITAVILLE RV RESORT AND LODGE in Pigeon Forge
This was our first RV resort/campground in this area. It appeared to be brand new when we visited. Everything was fresh and clean and grass was newly sown.
This site is just sitting on the hill above Pigeon Forge on the very Southern end of the town; which was very nice and accessible to town. The trolley visited the campground every 15 minutes to take people downtown Pigeon Forge.
Just as the vibe at all Margaritaville chains, the campground has a beachy, party vibe to it. The colors are bold and the sites are all concrete pads.
So, if you are wanting to visit Tennessee to get close to nature, this would not be where you would want to stay. But, if you want to enjoy Pigeon Forge, you cannot beat the location!
The only thing that frustrated me about making reservations here is that I paid additional money to reserve a site. When I arrived, we were not given the site that I reserved. But, the gentlemen at check-in was very kind and worked it out.
This RV Resort offers:
- Dog park (not separated by big and little dogs)
- Playground
- Laundry
- Nice, clean bathhouse
- Swimming pool, bar and restaurant at the lodge
- Full RV hook ups (we could only access 30 amp hook up)
- Wifi
- Cable (but, the channels are VERY limited)

GREENBRIER CAMPGROUND in Gatlinburg
I loved this campground!
I didn’t realize how much I wanted to be in nature until we left the previous RV resort and pulled in here. This campground is nestled right in the trees and surrounded by The Little Pigeon River. It is, also, just minutes from an entrance to The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Too, it is not far from downtown Gatlinburg.
This RV campground offers:
- 2 Dog parks (one, at least, had a big and little dog side)
- Playground
- Laundry
- Multiple nice, clean bathhouses
- Game room (but we could never get the door access to work)
- Full RV hook ups (we could access 50 amp hook up here)
- Wifi
- Cable (but, we could never get it to work. You have to bring a long coax cable to use)
- Two entry points into The Little Pigeon River (one includes a beach area)
- Camp store where you can rent golf carts and shop
- RV sites, mostly, back up to the river (and are stunningly beautiful)
If you are looking for campgrounds or RV resorts near Gatlinburg, I would recommend Greenbrier Campground in a heartbeat!
