Your son has let you know that he is getting married. Now what? What should you, as the parents of the groom, expect to pay for in the upcoming nuptials?
I will tell you what I have read on the internet and then I will tell you what I did, as the mother (I am not married to my sons father).
EXPENSES BASED ON WHAT I FOUND ON THE INTERNET
Traditionally, the brides family paid for everything. Nowadays, things have been split a little bit as the costs of weddingS have increased. These are some suggestions for weddings, now.
SUGGESTIONS OF EXPENSES FOR GROOMS FAMILY
These suggestions are not to imply that the groom or the grooms family is to cover all of these expenses. I am just compiling all of the lists that I found over multiple wedding websites.
- BRIDES ENGAGEMENT RING AND WEDDING BAND
- AN ENGAGEMENT PARTY
- THE MARRIAGE LICENSE
- THE REHEARSAL DINNER
- FEES TO PASTOR OR OFFICIANT
- GROOMS CLOTHING
- THE BRIDES BOUQUET AND MENS BOUTONNIERES
- LIQUOR AND ENTERTAINMENT AT THE WEDDING
- THE HONEYMOON
EXPENSES THAT I HAVE TAKEN ON SO FAR
- LODGING FOR GROOM AND GROOMSMEN ON WEDDING DAY
- CATERED REHEARSAL DINNER
- HALF OF PHOTOGRAPHER FEES
- GROOM AND BEST MANS CLOTHING
- MONEY TOWARDS HONEYMOON
The kids have taken on a lot of expenses for their wedding. I know that they have covered rings, tent, remaining honeymoon expenses, the other half of photographer and more.
